The piece has been generated in direct response to Shunt’s unique location and structure. The guidelines chosen for the performance centre around a collaboration with the space and darkness in the entrance vaults of Shunt.
Whiterope consists of performers from different generations, bringing different energies in to play, offering spatial and visual polyphonies. This durational piece is a meditation containing oblique references to muted and subsumed cultural narratives, specific to the historical and contemporary relationship between Wales and England.
